Do you have allergies?

I do. And I think this post will really resonate with those who have allergies…I think.

Also, I don’t know if this is defined as sacrilegious or not.

My goal is not to be sacrilegious.

I would say that I am 75/25 as far as me being serious/joking.

So—every day I have experienced something this allergy season. I wake up every morning and I walk into my bathroom and remove the eye-gunk from my eyes. Once I remove the eye-gunk I then reach down and grab this holy purifying substance….

Once I drop at least one drop into each eye I just close my eyes and it is as if my eyes are literally gulping these eye drops and I can feel my eyes being rinsed as they sting with joy knowing that they will no longer be dry and irritated.

So the sacrilegious part.

There is this verse in the bible that reads--As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for Thee, O God.

I kid you not, just the other day I was squinting my eyes after I had put some drops in my eyes, and this verse came to my mind.

I couldn’t help but think that this is kinda what my soul experiences each time I encounter God, specifically how when my human flesh interacts with God. I mean (and this is where it gets a little sacrilegious) my eyes pant for these drops.

I know this sounds crazy, but I think this is a real way to bridge the feeling of this verse to an actual tangible life experience.

well, if you move to Portland you won't have to be sacrilegious ;) (ever since I've moved to portland I've had absolutely NO allergies...whereas before I had to live off of Claritin D for a good while...)
